The family of Betty Dinsmore Cuddy are sad to announce her passing Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 11:50 a.m. at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Betty had courageously endured and fought cancer subsequent treatment.
Betty was the eldest of 8 children; she was born on December 13, 1923 in Keytesville, Missouri to Samuel and Elizabeth Dinsmore. One sister Norma Bowen of Caldwell, Idaho survives her.
She and her beloved husband Marvin Eldon Cuddy were married in 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri. Marvin preceded her in death February 7, 2002 at their home of over 40 years in Grain Valley, Missouri.
Betty and Marvin grew up in rural Keytesville, Missouri where their families were farmers and graduated together from High School in 1941.
Marvin went off to the Navy in 1942 for World War II and Betty went to Kansas City where during the War effort she worked for North American Aircraft. She then moved on to McDowell Tire as a Bookkeeper; and lastly she retired as an Auditor for Lake City Arsenal for DuPont.
Betty and Marvin welcomed a daughter into their world, Dana Lee Buddy on January 13, 1958.
Betty and Marvin were actively involved in their community with public service, 4H and showing of horses and cattle. Betty retired from DuPont in 1984 and Marvin retired from Fireman’s Fund Insurance in 1987. In their retirement years they loved to travel and visit with friends.
Betty loved the country life with her horses and cattle and made many friends over the years with her many trips and trail rides. When she was unable to ride her horses, she loved to socialize with her friends at bingo or at “the boats”.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Dana Lee Cuddy Weber, Louisburg, KS; and her grandchildren, Brent Weber, Manhattan, Ks & Becca Weber, Lee’s Summit, MO.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Asbury Cemetery in rural Keytesville, MO.
