Betty Jo Perry, 88, of Grain Valley, MO went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2013. She was born February 23, 1925 in Camden, MO, the daughter of Jess & Minnie (Kennedy) Murphy. She married James W. Perry in 1941 and they were married for 65 years before his death in 2006. Betty was also preceded in death by a son, Jack Perry (1997), a grandson, Kevin Perry (1974); and five siblings.
Betty was a member of Cross Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, mother & grandmother and she was an excellent cook. She had the spiritual gift of hospitality and had countless friends. Betty was Irish and her favorite holiday was St. Patrick’s Day.
Her survivors include a son: Rick Perry of St. Louis, MO, a daughter: Carole Leap of Grain Valley, MO; one sister: Peggy Beretta of Lexington, MO; seven grandchildren: Lisa Perry of Houston, TX, Wendy Borowski of Grain Valley, MO, Rusty Perry of Houston, TX, Kim Leap of Blue Springs, MO, Stephanie Perry of St. Louis, MO, Melissa Johosky of Grain Valley, MO, Craig Joseph Perry of St. Louis, MO; ten great-grandchildren; Sydney & Madison Borowski; Caitlyn, Hannah, & Rylee Leap; Bryan, Satchel, Rebecca, Lyla, & Sammy Perry; Angie Topia; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, June 22 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. Visitation with family will follow the service until 5:00 pm.
