Betty Jo Brooks, 96, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026, in Independence. A visitation will be held at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville, North Carolina, with a service to be announced at a later date.

Betty was born on June 19, 1929, in Mooresville, North Carolina, to Annie Mae Swing. She lived a long and full life, finding joy in the simple pleasures that brought her close to others. She loved traveling on tour buses with her senior friends, always looking forward to new places and shared laughter along the way. Betty treasured time with her family, enjoyed shopping outings, and was a devoted fan of baseball games played just across the street from her home. She also took great pride in keeping a clean and welcoming house, a reflection of her caring nature.

Betty will be remembered for her warmth, her love of companionship, and the joy she found in everyday moments.
