Bobbie J. Davolt

Bobbie Josephine Davolt, 77, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018.  A memorial service will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. November 27, 2018 at Country Meadows Baptist Church, 4901 Lee’s Summit Road, Kansas City, MO (lower level entrance).  Refreshments will be served while we share stories of the precious life we were fortunate enough to be a part of.  Her final resting place will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery next to the love of her life, at a later date.

Bobbie was born October 20, 1941 in Thayer, Missouri, the daughter of John Harold and Viola (Arnold) Dunsmore. She was raised in Brookfield, MO, and graduated from Brookfield High School in 1959, where she was crowned homecoming queen. Two years later, she graduated from Christian College (Columbia, MO) in 1961.

The pride of Bobbie’s life was being a mother and she raised three children, Robin, Michael and Stephanie. After years apart, she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Dick Davolt. They spent 12 joy-filled years together enjoying their 6 shared children and 13 shared grandchildren. They enjoyed spending time with family on their pontoon, eating ice cream, and sharing the holidays. They both enjoyed being pranksters and an April Fool’s Day would not pass without laughter around something they had done. Bobbie often expressed that her time with Dick and the blended family was something she was forever grateful for.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dick Davolt; her son Michael Maddox; her son-in-law Jim Atkins; and her parents Harold and Vi Dunsmore.

Surviving relatives include brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Eleanor (Sam) Dunsmore; daughter Robin Atkins; daughter and son-in-law Steph and Tim Kallas; son Jeff Davolt; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Archie Duetschman; daughter Dea Davolt; 16 grandchildren: Chris, Randee, Nick, Sapphire, Ashley, Seth, Monica, Krista, Johanna, Jessica, Tara, Brandon, Megan, Ian, Melanie, and Amber; and 16 great-grandchildren.

  1. Hard to believe she has passed. Bobbie was one of my earliest friends in Brookfield, Mo. We were a part of a small group of girls who were friends. Bobbie accompanied me many times during vocal contests. I will always remember her as a thoughtful and caring friend. we will miss her. – Carolyn (Cochran) Best
