Bobette (Mersman) Kilgore, 64, of Independence, Missouri, passed away at Hidden Lake Care Center on July 21, 2019 after a long struggle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and close friends in her final days. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28th at Grace Church, 911 N. Noland Road, Suite F, Independence, MO 64050.
Bobette was born in November 25, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Norman and Barbara (Putman) Mersman. She graduated from North East Kansas City High School in 1973. Bobette had two sons, Ryan and Adam Kilgore. She worked as a homemaker when her children were young and also worked as a receptionist at various places throughout her life. Bobette was an avid animal lover and member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). She enjoyed gardening, cooking, antiquing, and spending time with her granddaughter in her later years.
Bobette was preceded in death by her parents. Her survivors include her two sons: Ryan Kilgore of Kingsville, MO, and Adam Kilgore of Sibley, MO; one granddaughter, Avery Rose Kilgore of Sibley, MO; two sisters: Cindy Horn of Independence, MO, and Lynette Kessler of Blue Springs, MO; and one brother, Kenneth Mersman of Liberty, MO.
