Caleb R. Colmenares, 10, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26th at New Life Assembly of God, Oak Grove, MO; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, MO. Caleb was born July 18, 2001 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Rafael C. and Cara M. (Burks) Colmenares. He was a student at Sni-a-Bar Elementary School in Grain Valley. Caleb enjoyed watching WWE; Monday Night Raw & Friday Night Smack Down. He liked transformers & dinosaurs, and he loved his family.
Caleb was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lourdes De Colmenares, and his great-grandma, Gudila Barroso.
His survivors include his dad Rafael & Jeanie Colmenares of the home; his mom Cara Colmenares of Independence, MO; sister Victoria & brother Trevor of the home; sister Natalie of Independence; grandparents Rev. Cliff & Marilyn Waterman of Lone Jack, MO; Abuelo Rafael Colmenares of Caracas, Venezuela; four aunts: Kristie & Todd Nord of Lee’s Summit, Betzabeth Colmenares & Lourdes De Pena of Caracas, Venezuela, & Alicia Burks of Lee’s Summit; nine cousins; and a host of family & friends.
