Carl Bruce Ray, 62, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007. Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 27th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Carl was born on May 16, 1945, in Herington, Kansas, the son of Carl F. and Enid C. (Ramsey) Ray. He served in the United States Army. He married Violet G. Martin on January 6, 1976. Carl was a foreman for a construction company and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Independence. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-daughter, Linda Curts, a grandson, Timothy Harvey, a brother, David Ray, and a sister, Jane Davenport.
His survivors include his wife of 31 years, Violet Ray of the home; one son: Scott F. Ray & his wife, Angie of Independence; one step-daughter: Cynthia R. Harris & her husband, Ed, of Grain Valley, MO; two step-sons: Joseph K, Bellis III & his wife, Loraine of Overland Park, KS, and William M. Bellis; one sister: Sharon Rothenburger of Minnesota; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
