Carl Curtis Kenyon, 80, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 10, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, MO. Visitation will be held at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO, on Thursday, February 14th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15th at 11:00 a.m., also at Royer’s, with burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Catholic Charities of Kansas City.
Carl was born July 6, 1938 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He served in the Navy and Army and was a proud member of IBEW LU#124, recently receiving his 55-year pin.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Louise (Guerra) Kenyon, and Charles & Leila (Morse) Johnson; his brother, Ralph Kenyon; and his son, Curt Hanson.
His survivors include his wife of 44 years, Charlene (Johnston) Kenyon; sons: Chris Hanson (Beckie) and Dan Kenyon (Robin); daughters: Rhonda Worley (Sam), Carleen Waters (Jim), and Leslie Maschger (Mark); stepsons: Mike Dyer (Laurie) and Carl Dyer (Renee); brothers, Paul Kenyon and Kenneth Kenyon; sister, Paula Vogt (Sheldon); 18 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
