Carol M. Schwaller


Carol Marlene Schwaller, 74, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 12th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, followed by Graveside service at 3:30 p.m. in Mulvane Cemetery, Mulvane, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Carol was born August 5, 1943, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Richard V. and Neva L. (Adams) Holtby.  She married Larry Schwaller on November 7, 1965.  Carol was a very involved member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove.  She served on the Women on Mission committee and the Ordination Committee, and was the Director of Forest Avenue Homeless Shelter Ministry.  She was also a member of the quilt group.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; five aunts: Ethel, Esther, Melba, Mona, and Opal; and two uncles: Ora and Myrl.

Her survivors include her husband, Larry Schwaller of the home; two daughters: Lori Lebow (Craig) of Oak Grove, and Stacy Hassler (Michael) of Blue Springs, MO; son, Troy Schwaller of Oak Grove; sister, Vanita Moulton (Bruce) of Omaha, NE; five grandchildren and one on the way; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; niece, Amy Sissell (Mike) of NE; and nephew, Kyle Moulton (Amy) of NE.

  1. Carol, Larry, and my deceased husband, Bob, spent many happy hours together serving the Lord at Forest Avenue plus just visiting in the Rio Grande Valley years ago. Carol was such a caring person and was willing to be used by the Lord. She is now in her eternal home and and is worshiping the Lord that she served here on earth. My prayers and love to the family for one lady that I was proud to call my friend. – Bobby Jean Fleming
