Carrie L. Gonzales

The world became a little quieter on June 28, 2026, when Carrie Lynn Gonzales, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great‑grandmother, passed away at home surrounded by those who loved her most. She was 69.

Born on January 10, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, Carrie grew into a woman whose warmth, strength, and steady kindness shaped every life she touched. For over 40 years, she was married to the love of her life, George Gonzales, a partnership defined by devotion, laughter, and the kind of love that anchors a family.

Carrie was a courageous fighter throughout her life — determined, resilient, and never afraid to stand up for what mattered. She said what she thought, spoke from the heart, and lived with a bold honesty that those around her deeply admired. Her strength was matched only by her compassion.

Carrie’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished her role as a mother, sister, grandmother, and great‑grandmother, pouring her heart into every moment spent with her growing family. She had a way of making people feel seen and cared for, and her presence brought comfort and light into any room.

Carrie is survived by her husband, George Gonzales; her children Jason and Stephanie Carpenter, Jeremy and Andrea Carpenter, Michael and Shawna Gonzales, and Carlyon and Bill Johnston. She is also survived by her sister, Robin Preston, several nieces and nephews, and numerous grandchildren and great‑grandchildren who will forever carry her love forward.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stan and June Preston, and her brother, Richard Preston.

A celebration of Carrie’s life will be held on July 11, 2026, with family and friends gathering from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Royer Funeral Home, 100 Royer Lane, Grain Valley, MO. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Arrangements by Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri.
