Charles F. “Charlie” Powers, 69, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center, Lee’s Summit, MO.  Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Charlie was born on December 13, 1940 in Austin, Texas, the son of Charles B. and Eunice (Jones) Powers.  He was raised by his grandparents, Margaret and Elmer Jones.  Charlie served his country in the United States Navy.  On October 28, 1967, he married Carol Moore. Charlie worked as truck mechanic for Midwest Kennworth until his retirement.

Charlie was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, sister Eunice Gutman, and uncle Elmer Jones.

His survivors include his wife:  Carol Powers of the home; two sons: Shawn Powers & wife Mary of Independence, MO, and Brian Powers of Odessa, MO; his grandchildren: Justin, Corey & Aaron Powers of Independence, MO; his mother: Eunice Powers of Chillicothe, MO; and one sister: Vera Baker of Overland Park, Kansas.
