Charles Louis Perkins, 65, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27th at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 901 E. 23rd St., Independence, MO. 64055.
Charles was born on February 16, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Allen Francis and Virginia June (Welchons) Perkins. He was a Registered Nurse for 20 years and worked at several area hospitals. He loved gardening and being outside, he also enjoyed live theatre, art and anything to do with science.
Charles is survived by two daughters: Heather Mann of Wheatland, WY, and April Freeman of Lee’s Summit, MO; seven grandchildren: Shelby Camerlynck, Kody Mann, Levi Mann, and Jacob Mann, Jessie Perkins, Zacchary Watt and Thaddeus Freeman; two great-grandchildren: Alaina and Tommy Forecelledo; three sisters: Shirley Smith, Sharon South, and Sheila Newport; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Chris Perkins.
