Cheryl Ann Crist, 51, of Lone Jack, MO, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Blue Springs. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12th at the First Baptist Church, Oak Grove; burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence. the family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 11th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Cheryl was born on June 30, 1955 in Independence, MO, the daughter of Charles & Hollis (Jones) Salyer. She graduated from Can Horn High School in Independence and Wabash Community College in Illinois. Cheryl married Charles Donald Crist Jr. on May 2, 1980. she was employed as an Administrative Assistant at Underwood Elementary in Lee’s Summit. Cheryl was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove and a former member of Oak Wood Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit. Her father and a sibling, Tom Salyer, preceded her in death.

Her survivors include her husband of 27 years: Don Crist of the home; one daughter: Cristi Fortner & husband Jason of Blue Springs; two step-sons: Donnie Crist of Grain Valley and Jason Crist & wife Lori of Grain Valley; her mother: Hollis Salyer of Independence; two sisters: Jan Mammen of Blue Springs & Rose Wingate of Oklahoma City, OK; and one brother: Roger Salyer & wife Dott of Lee’s Summit; four grandchildren: Charli, Meah, Jake & Kale.

Cheryl was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend to all who knew her. She was always more concerned with the needs of others than her own. Her love of God and her family was her strength and shield. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
