Clarence E. Alexander


Clarence “Sam” E. Alexander, 79 of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away November 11, 2013 in Kansas City, Missouri.  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Clarence was born February 8, 1934 at home in St. Clair County, Missouri the son of Eugene C. & Tressa (Parks) Alexander.  He married Carol Janice Neill in 1969.  Clarence served his country in the U.S. Army.  He worked in the pipe line industry for 40 years and was Vice President of Park Hill Pipe Service at the time of his retirement in 1993.  Clarence grew up in the Archie, Missouri area and graduated from Archie High School.  He has lived in Blue Springs, MO since 1976.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene & Tressa Alexander; one brother, Bob Alexander; and two sisters, Betty Garriett & Bonny Sweet.

His survivors include his wife, Carol Janice Alexander of the home; one brother, Bill Alexander of Appleton City, MO; three sisters: Wilma Atkinson & Mary Anne Elliott, both of Archie, MO, and Sue Arndt of Adrian, MO; and numerous nieces & nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Clarence’s name to Vitas Hospice, 6601 Winchester, Kansas City, MO 64133.  The family would like to give special thanks to Vitas Hospice workers Sharon, Nicole & Dee; and his caregiver Jessica who watched westerns with him.
