Claude Owen Andrews, 82, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th at the Church of Christ in Oak Grove; burial in Lone Jack Cemetery, Lone Jack, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children’s Homes Inc, 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
Claude was born March 2, 1937, in Leota, Missouri, the son of Delbert and Eula Pearl (Gilbreath) Andrews. He married Lydia E. Wheeler in 1956. Claude was an estimator at Armco Steel, retiring after 30 years. He was an Elder at the Oak Grove Church of Christ and enjoyed helping other churches with construction projects. Claude was a past President of the Estimators of the Midwest and was also a past President of the Lone Jack School Board. He was a pilot and loved to fly.
Claude’s survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lydia Andrews of the home; two sons: Greg Andrews of Peculiar, MO, and Darrell Andrews (Connie) of Odessa, MO; four grandchildren: Karen Bridgforth (Josh), Jacob Andrews, Candice Stevens (Shane), and Danielle Best (Jarrod); and three great-grandchildren: Deacon Stevens, Dawson Stevens, and Liam Best. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nola Andrews in 1939.
