Cody A. Burton, 25, of Independence, MO, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Cody was born on June 26, 1989, in Kansas City, MO to Charlie Burton and Janell Neal. He was a 2008 graduate of Fort Osage High School and worked for Coreslab Structures.

In addition to his mother and father, survivors include his brother Tyler Burton of Independence, MO and maternal grandmother Joyce Beasley of Independence and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Chuck & Clara Burton, maternal grandfather Jerry Beasley, cousin Austin Fuller, and stepfather Steve Neal. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2014 at New Salem Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1823 N. Blue Mills Road, Independence, MO 64058. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2014. Donations are being accepted through www.gofundme.com/codyburton.
