Connie J. Edie


Connie Jo (Wilson) Edie, 72, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at her home.

Connie was born May 28, 1944 in Independence, Missouri, to Emmit Franklin and Mary Maxine (Hamilton) Wilson.  Connie was a 1962 graduate of Blue Springs High School and lived most of her life in the Blue Springs area and several years throughout Texas.  Connie worked over 30 years at G.E.H.A., and retired in 2013.  Connie was involved in charitable organizations and clubs holding the position of Queen of a Red Hatter chapter of which she was a charter member, and regularly played Bunko with a group of friends.  Connie was Southern Baptist and visited various congregations in the Blue Springs area. 

Connie is survived by her children, son Scott Edie (Marla) of Independence, MO and Mary Christine Edie Gowin (Andy) of Lathrop, MO; grandchildren Taylor Merrick, Dylan Gowin, Carson Edie, Jaxson Gowin and Olivia Gowin; sister Linda Kay (Wilson) Bauer of Oak Grove; a nephew Jacob Bauer; cousins and many loving friends.  Connie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Catherine Wilson. 

Services held at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs, MO with visitation August 29, 2016 between 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the chapel and funeral service on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow in the Blue Springs Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to charity of choice.
