Daniel W. Loehr


Daniel “Pinky” Wesley Loehr, 70, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 peacefully at home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, April 20 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 2001 Broadway, Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6-8 pm Tuesday, April 19 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Community Services League of Oak Grove, Missouri.

Pinky was born on July 10, 1940 in Haven, Kansas the son of William and Sylvia (Stone) Loehr. He married Edith L. Folkers on January 29, 1966 and moved to Oak Grove in 1970 where he resided. He worked and retired from the General Motors Leeds Plant. Pinky owned & operated “Pinky’s Car Wash” in Oak Grove, spent numerous hours enjoying golf, fishing and hunting for mushrooms. He was a long life Catholic and a member of the American Legion Post 379 of Oak Grove, MO. Pinky will always be remembered as a mentor and life coach to his family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Sylvia Loehr, and his beloved wife of 34 years: Edith Loehr; and four brothers: Lester, Harold, William and Charles Loehr.

His survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Angel Rausch and Amber & Dennis Evans, all of Oak Grove; two brothers: Alfred and Norman Loehr; three grandchildren: Alexanderia Rausch, Melvin Rausch & Ellenora Evans; and many, many friends. Pinky was loved by all who knew him and he will be sadly missed.
