  1. Joyce, Joni, and Gina,
I was so saddened for you this morning to read the news of Darrell’s passing. He was indeed a warm person of sterling character and genuine caring. I always respected and liked him so much. I’m sorry we’ve lost track of each other through the years. I have remarried and live in Parkville at Riss Lake now. Lance is married to a dentist, chose not to have children, and co-owns an accountant head-hunting business. Laura lives in Independence, has no children, and is a paraprofessional working with special ed students. I haven’t seen Bernadette in nine years, but occasionally see some of the bridge neighbors for lunch (Jill, Phyllis, Gerri, Grace, Ashley, and Melissa). I will never forget our many years of close friendship, your support, and the fun times we had together. I send my love to you all. Marilyn

Thank you for your very kind note. My mom was especially moved that you reached out with your condolences. She would love to catch up with you when she is a bit more settled. Right now, she is too distraught to talk. If you would like to send me your phone number my private email address is joni.m.lane@gmail.com Again, thank you so much for writing to us.

  4. I was sorry to hear of Darrell’s passing. He was one of the kindest and generous person I have had the pleasure to have known. Always helpful and reliable to those in need. I think of him and Joyce often and consider both as true friends.
