David Frank Horn, 74, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO. There will be a private burial in the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

David was born on June 11, 1933, in Roanoke, Alabama, the son of Hoyt and Maize F. (Traylor) Horn. He married Mary Alice Baxter on November 17, 1956. David was in the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam and Korea. Throughout his Navy career, he worked on nuclear submarines as an engine mechanic. He retired in 1975 after 22 years of service,

David was preceded in death by nine siblings.

His survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary, of the home; one son: David F. Horn Jr. & his wife, Casandra, of North Richland, TX; two daughters: Gerry M. Tisdale & her husband, Glenn, of Blue Springs, MO, and Frances L. Olson & her husband, Michael, of Albuquerque, NM; one sister: Anne Herndon of Santa Anna, CA; and ten grandchildren.
