David W. Chanslor


On Sunday, March 7, 2021, David W. Chanslor, surrounded by his family, passed away at the age of 64. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021 with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 11 a.m. at Crown Pointe Church 5950 NE Lakewood Way Lee’s Summit, MO 64064

Dave was born on August 6, 1956 in Crosset, Arkansas to Robert and Lois Chanslor. Dave served his country in the Navy on the John F. Kennedy. He received his Associates of Engineering from Longview Community College in 1983. Dave and Wilma, the love of his life, have been together for over 30 years. Dave’s love for God, family and country mattered most. He lived daily by the motto: “Love God, Love Others”. He enjoyed serving his church body in many facets from singing in the church choir, to playing the bongos, as a Royal Ranger Commander, a Youth Leader, a member of the Courtesy Ministry and as a deacon. By those who knew him, he was considered the “best mechanic ever” and the “fixer of all things”. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting model cars. He was an avid music lover. One of his favorite things to do was travel with his family.

Dave is survived by his wife Wilma, daughter Sherri Daugherty and husband Dale and daughter Desiree Bridges and husband Kyle. Grandchildren include: Shane, Jake, Zach, Joel, and Lauren. Great-grandchildren include: Rylan and Maxine.
