Dolores M. Sciolaro


Dolores Marie Sciolaro, 93, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3rd at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Contributions can be made to Crossroads Hospice.

Dolores was born July 1, 1928 to Virgil and Frieda (Prather) Sayers. She loved to quilt and read her Bible. Delores enjoyed traveling, gardening and fellowship with her Christian friends. She always had fun driving her corvette.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil F. Sciolaro; daughter, Nancy Ann Twin; and infant daughter, Virginia Mae Sciolaro.

Dolores is survived by her daughter, Dana Sciolaro of Blue Springs; grandson, Eric Jourdan of Kansas City; 2 great-grandchildren: Virgil Jourdan and Angel Jourdan; and brother, Stanley Sayers of Oak Grove.

    Michael and I are so sad for your loss. Growing up with your family was a treasure in our lives. I remember Jean, Jo, and I had many fun summer days laughing with your mom and singing under her passionate guidance in the choir. She really made a difference in the Liberty church community.

  7. I remember your Mother. She would come to Calvary and her and Dwight Clark would sing. They both had beautiful voices. Your grandpa and grandpa Sayers was such wonderful people. We used to have SS Christmas parties in their basement. So sorry for the loss of your mother.

  8. Dana, I’m so sorry for your loss. I adored your mother, and will always remember happy evenings at the old house, watching movies with milk and cookies. She was a wonderful choir director, a good person, and an inspiration. She and your father seemed meant for one another; in my memory, they are the very best of simpler and happier time. My life was better for knowing you and them. Please know that you’re in our thoughts and prayers.
