Donna L. Scherfenberg


Donna Lea Scherfenberg, 63, of Bates City, Missouri passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 1st at 3:00p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery. Contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Donna was born on November 25, 1955 in Kansas City, MO, daughter of Glen and Laura (Renick) Conley. She married Clark Scherfenberg on January 9, 1999. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove and was an officer of the Ladies Auxiliary of Oak Grove American Legion post #379. Since 1977 she was a nurse and later a unit clerk (3 south) at Truman Lakewood Medical Center and currently a school teacher with SOAR at Odessa Elementary. She liked to travel, shop, spend time with friends and family and loved being at the beach and by water.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Glen Conley.  Her survivors include her husband, Clark of the home; daughters, Shonna Janes (Richard) of Odessa, MO, Christie Smith (Derrick) of Raymore and Jessica Ferrell (Jason) of Lee’s Summit; sons, Eric Scherfenberg (Jenny) of Harrisonville and Jason Scherfenberg (Jodi) of Lee’s Summit; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; mother, Laura Conley of Oak Grove, MO; sister, Glenda Rau (Jerry) or Blue Springs and Kathy Conley of Lee’s Summit; and brother, Glen Conley of Grain Valley.
