Dorotha Lou “Dottie” Nickell, 94, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 18, 2019 following a brief illness. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25th in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove, MO.
Dottie was born in 1925 in Mulberry, KS to Charles and Marie (Riley) Shelton. She spent most of her adult life in Raytown, MO and Oak Grove, MO. Dottie was married to Dr. Richard Nickell in 1953 and after his death in 1988, she managed her husband’s dental office in Oak Grove, keeping the dental practice open for a number of years. She was a woman of integrity and her kindness and generosity was without reservation. She will be missed by family and friends.
Dottie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Linda Nickell; two grandchildren, Ryan and Ruth Nickell; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Shelton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard Nickell.
