Dorothy L. Messmer, 82, of Oak Grove, passed away January 17, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Independence, MO. Visitation will be 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Dorothy was born April 11, 1929 in Meade, Kansas to Lennie & Eliza (Kinnison) Krisle. She married Robert Messmer February 29, 1964. She attended First Baptist Church of Oak Grove. Dorothy played the drums in her high school band. She loved gardening, her family and especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert, October 2007; one brother; three sisters. Dorothy is survived by one daughter: Dorothy Hook & husband Jess of Oak Grove, MO; one son: Rob Messmer & companion April of Lee’s Summit, MO; two grandchildren: Alexis J. Messmer, Chase D. Messmer.
