Doug Johnson


Doug Johnson, 39, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away on April 20, 2007. Doug grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, but as an adult lived in and loved Missouri. Doug worked for the Kansas City Community Center, which is a drug and alcohol treatment center, founded and directed by his mother, Shirley Johnson. Doug was a kind and gentle soul. He and his wife, Lorrie, managed their small country farm and tended to their many animals near Lone Jack, Missouri.

Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother, Shirley Johnson. He leaves behind his daughter, Kaylene Jeanette Johnson of Perry, Michigan; his father, Vern Johnson and wife Glenda; his sister, Kristen Jumps and husband, Mike, with sons, Connor and Christopher. He is survived by his step-brother, Mak Knighton and wife, Toni of London, England; his step-sisters, Kelly Knighton and Amanda Krestul and husband, Charlie of Canyon County, California; his nephew and nieces will miss Doug greatly: Connor, Christopher, Brandon, Scotty, MacKenzie, and Jordan. Also surviving Doug is his step-daughter, Holly White and husband Michael, with grandsons, Kyler and Kaeden; his step-son, Travis Groves. Doug loved his in-laws and their daughter, Lorrie Johnson.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Grace Covenant Presbytetian Church, College Blvd. & Nieman Rd., Overland Park, Kansas.
