Douglas E. Houchen


Douglas E. Houchen, 54, of Independence, MO passed away peacefully on May 5, 2017 at The Kansas City Hospice House.  Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Blue Springs Congregation the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5555 Valley View Rd. Blue Springs, MO 64015.  The family will receive friends at 2:00pm with a memorial service to begin at 3:00pm.

Doug was born on May 31, 1962 in Pittsburg, KS to Edgar Houchen and Myrna Williams. Doug worked as an electrician with his step-dad, Rodney Williams, at Phar Lap Electric.  He then joined the Electrical Union and worked for Broadway Electric for many years.  Doug held the office of Teacher of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Doug’s survivors include his Father (Step Mother Geraldine) and Mother; one son, Dustin Cole, Independence, MO; three sisters, Debi Klick and husband Jim, Independence, MO; Tammy Clemmons and husband Mark, Lee’s Summit, MO; Peggy Houchen of Overland Park, KS; two brothers, Rodney Williams, Independence, MO and Marck Houchen wife Tanya of Archie, MO;  also many nieces and nephews. The family recommends donations to The Gathering Place, 2820 M 291 Frontage Rd., Independence, MO 64057.
