Eda Swigonski, 98, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away August 5, 2018, at Oak Grove Nursing & Rehab. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 18th at Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church in Grandview, MO. Lunch will be served following the service. Her ashes will be interred at a later date in Benton, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church’s food pantry.
Eda was born December 15, 1919, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of James and Louisa (Vern) Garbo. She married Zigmund Swigonski and raised two children. Eda owned a neighborhood grocery store in Benton, IL. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was also involved in her church and passionate about helping those in need.
Eda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a granddaughter, Samantha Swigonski.
She leaves behind her two children: Jack Swigonski and his wife Kathy, and JoDee Morris and her husband Richard; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
