Edith Lyle Foreman, 79, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Lee’s Summit Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2006 at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Feed The Children organization, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101-0036.
Edith was born on September 22, 1926 in Polo, MO, the daughter of John Albert and Elsie Clara (Robinson) Place. She married Alvin F. Foreman on January 3, 1952. She was a member of Central Assembly of God in Independence, MO and a tutor at Dr. Frank C. Laubach Adult Literacy Programs. Edith was an accomplished musician and played piano at church for many years. She was also a seamstress. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 3 brothers, Albert Place, Kenneth Place and Willard Place.
Her survivors include: one daughter: Rebecca Sue Wilson & husband, David of Blue Springs; two grandchildren: Amber, and Aaron & wife, Tanaya all of Blue Springs; three great-grandchildren: Leah, Breana, & Kylee Wilson of Blue Springs; two nephews: John Place & wife, Debra of Tallison, AZ, and Paul Place & wife, Stephanie of Houston, TX; three nieces: Sharon Place of Independence, MO, Rebecca Patton & husband, Sam of Leslie, AR, and Ruth Main & husband, Jim of Boise, ID.
