Edith “Edie” Oreta Carson, 71, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 27th at New Life Assembly in Oak Grove; burial in Oakland Cemetery, Buckner, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Edie was born February 8, 1949, in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of Wilbur C. and Eleanor E. (Bowles) Noland. She married Robert C. Carson Sr. on November 10, 1967. Edie was a housewife that loved her family and spoiling her nieces and nephews. She had a knack for decorating and enjoyed making ceramics and porcelain dolls. She also enjoyed singing gospel music and was very active in church.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Donna Houchins, Shirley Jenkins, and Serena (Crayle) Jones.
Her survivors include her husband of 52 years, Robert Carson Sr. of the home; son, Robert Carson Jr. of Oak Grove; two sisters: Saundra Willing (Donald) of Stevenson, WA, and Sue Stevens (Doug) of Sedalia, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
