
Edward “Ed” Allen Rose, 63, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30th at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church; burial in Shore Cemetery, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 29th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Contributions may be made in Ed’s honor to the Sni Valley Fire Fighters Association, Sarah Cannon Cancer Center at Research Hospital, or Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Ed was born June 12, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of George E. and Alma J. (Searcy) Rose. He married Ruth A. Noltensmeyer in April 1973. Ed was a firefighter, EMT, and OSHA officer for the Sni Valley Fire Protection District and for Hallmark in Kansas City and Liberty Distribution Centers for 41 years. He was also a volunteer for the Sni Valley Fire Protection District for 13 years, 7 of which he served as Captain. Ed was also a Cub Scout leader and soccer coach, and a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include his wife of 43 years, Ruth Rose of the home; three children: Christopher Rose of Odessa MO, Patrick Rose of Kansas City MO, and Lori Rose-Cracraft of Raymore MO; seven grandchildren: Gracie Ratterree, Madisen Rose, Colton Ratterree, Hailey Rose, Henry Cracraft, Shelby Rose, and Lorali Cracraft; and two sisters: Barbara Warman of Leawood KS, and Joyce Viets of Grandview MO.
