Edward Ray Hicks of Independence, Missouri, passed away February 26, 2019 at the age of 78.   Services will be held at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO, on  Monday, March 4th, with visitation from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 p.m.

Ray was born on December 14, 1940, in Calico Rock, AR, to John H. & Velvie M. (McCleary) Hicks.  He was a dedicated employee of National Starch for 42 years.

His survivors include his wife, Cindy; three brothers: Harlen, Glen, and Jimmy Dale; two sisters: Ruby and Ruth Ann; five children: Susan, Kelly, Vickie, Michael, and William; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
