Eldis Landon Haskins, 70, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO; burial with Military Honors will follow in New Salem Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Eldis was born June 29, 1947 in Gainesville, Missouri, the son of Earlin and Beatrice (Denton) Haskins. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a printer for many years and enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing softball, pool, and riding motorcycles.
Eldis is survived by his wife, Gayle of the home; one stepson, John Fry of Grain Valley; three sons: James Haskins of Grain Valley, Rich Haskins of Grain Valley, and Joe Haskins of Clinton, MO; one brother, Eldon Haskins; one sister, Eileen; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Jim Fry; and sister, Elaine.
