Eldon (J.T.) John Thompson, 69, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017. A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Side Pockets, 1237 MO-7, Blue Springs, MO 64014.
Eldon was born on January 21, 1948 in Independence, MO, son of Eldon and Jeanette (Still) Thompson. He was a league and tournament bowler and spent several years on a pool league. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing Texas Hold Em with friends. John loved spending time with his family and was very active in his son’s sports. Vacationing with his family in Colorado and Minnesota was his fondest memories. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Eldon’s survivors include his wife, Rita of the home; 4 sons: Jeffery Thompson of Independence, MO, Robert Thomas / Lindsey Miller of Blue Springs, MO, Steven & Elizabeth Thompson of Grain Valley, MO and William & Jackie Thompson; 1 daughter, Michelle Thompson of Kansas City, MO; and 10 grandchildren: Jenny, Jesse, Megan, Logan, Kaylen, Haley, Addison, Delaney, Lee and Collin.
