Elizabeth “Betty” Ann (Alleman) Stone, 84, died peacefully at her home on May 12, 2015.   Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16th at New Salem Funeral Home in Independence, Missouri, with visitation at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.

Betty was born October 1, 1930 in Booneville, Missouri, the daughter of Archie A. and Roberta (Adams) Alleman.  She worked as an administrative assistant for 50 years at various Kansas City companies including Montgomery Ward, Gilbert Robinson and Sosland Publishing.  After retirement, Betty volunteered in the Foster Grandparents program for 8 years, primarily in the Independence School District. 

Betty is preceded in death by her son, Michael Stone of Carthage, MO.  She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lopez of Bates City; six grandchildren: Samantha Rush of Parkville, MO, Desiree Schlotterer of Kansas City, MO, Sara Stone of Brooklyn, NY, Ian Ballou of Independence, MO, Tyler Stone of Shoreline, WA, and Joey Simms of Independence, MO; as well as 5 great grandchildren.
