Elizabeth Dora McDaniel, 90, of Grain Valley, MO passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Blue Springs. A funeral mass will be 10 am Saturday, April 26th at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Oak Grove; burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City. The family receive friends at St. Jude’s from 9 am until service time.

Elizabeth was born February 10, 198 in Hazel, SD, the daughter of Robert & Mary (Honnel) Helle. She married Connelly McDaniel on November 10, 1941 and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2005, after 64 years of marriage. Mrs. McDaniel was a devoted wife and mother. They lived in Warsaw, MO for 28 years before moving to Grain Valley in 2004. Mrs. McDaniel was currently a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Oak Grove. She had been a 28-year member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Warsaw, where she was in the Altar & Rosary Societies. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Lincoln, MO.

Also preceding Mrs. McDaniel in death were two children: James David and Karen Marie; five brothers; and one sister.

Her survivors include two sons: Connelly McDaniel Jr. & wife Linda of Kansas City ,MO and Robert McDaniel & Nancy of Oak Grove, MO; one daughter: Lucille Clark & husband Gary of Holden, MO; a brother-in-law: Donald McDaniel & his wife MAry Lou of Warsaw, MO;; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
