
Elvis “Lloyd” Morehead, 86, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Country Club Care Center, Warrensburg, MO. Services will be held Thursday, November 12th at Mt. Tabor Methodist Church, Odessa, MO; with visitation at 9:30 a.m., funeral at 11:00 a.m., and burial in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Lloyd was born February 17, 1929, in rural Odessa, Missouri, the son of Elvis H. and Sadie (Ripley) Morehead. He married Opal Gamble in November 1949. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army for 7 years. He was a farmer all his life until he retired in 1993. Lloyd also worked for the Lafayette County Special Road District, was Central Coop Director, and Lafayette County Commissioner from 1988-1992.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Helen Shackelford & Martha Dillingham. His survivors include his wife of 65 years, Opal Morehead of the home; three children: Elvis L. Morehead Jr. (Mary Jane) of Bel Aire, MD, Edward I. Morehead (Kay) of Clinton, MO, & Sandra L. Chadwick (Dennis) of Odessa; six grandchildren: Misty Wallis, Jeremy Morehead, Sarah Bailey, Alicia McKeehan, Kaley Barnes, & Dillon Chadwick; eleven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lena Sproat of Warrensburg, MO.
