Erlene Ruth (Allen) Lowe, 82, of Blue Springs, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2008 while at home.
Born July 2, 1925, she grew up in Kansas City, MO and graduated from East High School. She was secretary at the Federal Reserve Bank until 1947. On February 22, 1946, Erlene married the love of her life, Cecil T. Lowe of Blue Springs. They resided in Blue Springs Bank. starting as a secretary and retiring as Vice President. Erlene and Cecil both had private pilots licenses and Erlene flew as a co-pilot in three Powder Puff Air Races. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, as is Cecil.
Erlene is survived by her husband: Cecil Lowe of the home; a daughter: Shirley R. Leavitt & companion Dutch Schulze of Blue Springs: a son: Richard A. Lowe & wife Heather of Grain Valley; two grandsons: Eric Lowe & wife Stefani, and Ian Lowe; a sister: Ruby I. Hanes; a niece: Dona Sims; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be dearly missed by all.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13th at the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs; burial in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs.
