Eugene Belvin, 73, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada. A Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 7th at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, Blue Springs, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6th at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs, MO. Contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Eugene was born September 11, 1937, in East Prairie, MO, the son of Everett and Agatha (Goodman) Belvin. He married Judy Pohlmeier on November 30, 1958. Eugene served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a funeral director and embalmer, retiring in 2008. He was a member of St. John LaLande Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Eugene was preceded in death by one brother, Warren, and one sister, Ruth.
His survivors include his wife of 52 years, Judy Belvin of the home; two sons: Tim Belvin & wife Nancy of Woodinville, WA, Todd Belvin & fiancé Theresa Mick of Lake Winnebago, MO; four daughters: Sandy Kilkenny & husband Mike of Lee’s Summit, MO, Teresa Brumfield & husband Jerry of Lee’s Summit, MO, Sherri Hamilton & fiancé Mark Boles of Lee’s Summit, MO, Tammy Cox & husband Christian of Blue Springs, MO; two sisters: his twin sister Nadine Ivey, Betty Matheny; five brothers: Bruce, Dennis, Melvin, Everett Lee, & Ben Belvin; seven grandsons & seven granddaughters.
