Evelyn Ruth Montgomery, 71, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Saturday May 14, 2016. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 on Wednesday May 18, 2016 at Royer Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 2:00 also at the funeral home with a burial in Valley Memorial Gardens following the service.

Evelyn was born November 11, 1944, daughter of Glen and Anna McKenzie. She was a proud grandma who was very involved with her grandsons and loved keeping up with her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling. She was a federal employee who really enjoyed her job as an administrative assistant at Department of Agriculture in Kansas City. She was previously employed by Census Bureau in Kansas City and a licensed cosmetologist.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Anna (Holland) McKenzie; and brother, John Burns. She is survived by her husband, Leroy Montgomery of Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Salena (JW) Barnhill of Higginsville, MO; 2 step-daughters, Tina (Randy Ellis) Gumminger of Blue Springs, MO and Judith Naylor of Blue Springs, MO; 2 sisters, Virginia (Charles) Goodman of Grain Valley, MO and Jacquiline (Michael) Williams of Fruit Heights, UT; brother, William Hein of Lee’s Summit, MO; and 2 grandchildren, Steven Keener of Higginsville, MO and Logan Koehler of Higginsville, MO.
