Florence L. Mainard


Florence “Flo” Lorene Mainard, 88, of Holden, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Florence was born September 1, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Clarence and Nathalien (McKillip) Canfield.  She was a 1951 graduate of Oak Grove High School.  Flo retired from Allied Signal and Armco Steel.  She also drove a school bus, was a beautician, and did upholstery and finish concrete.  Flo was a member of the Christian Church, loved the outdoors, and had a love of animals, especially cats, dogs, and chickens.  She could do anything she set her mind to.

Flo’s survivors include her son, Dan Mainard (Nancy) of Holden, MO; two grandchildren: Rana Farwig (Tom) of Raleigh, NC, and Josh Mainard (Brooke) of Holden, MO; four great-grandchildren: Emily, Zoe, Lane, and Lilly; and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by son, Chester Michael Mainard in 2007, and daughter, Misty Dawn Mainard in 2017.

  1. I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom. I worked at Armco Steel & Allied Signal with Flo. I enjoyed being friends with Flo. She was a sweet person. I’m sorry I missed her visitation. She was a tough lady.
