Francis “Vern” Vernon Danley, 80, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6th with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO, followed by burial in New Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to KC Pet Project.
Vern was born April 29, 1939 in Baldwin City, KS, to Albert & Alice (Hoover) Danley. He married the love of his life Deanna Jean Henry on September 22, 2018, after many years of courtship. Vern was young at heart, loved living life to the fullest, always with a twinkle of orneriness in his eyes. He was a talented and accomplished computer programmer. He loved to shoot pool and was on a Thursday night league for many years. Vern enjoyed wood working, playing golf, softball, bowling, and was an avid Chiefs & Royals fan. He enjoyed playing computer games and puzzles.
Vern was preceded in death by his parents; wife Rita; brother TJ Danley; and sisters, Barbara and Pauline.
He is survived by his wife Deanna of the home; daughter, Iana McCubbin of Bayfield, CO; granddaughters, Caitlin and Jordan; brothers, Bert Danley (Virginia) of Chicago, IL, and Robert Danley (Dee) of Bella Vista, AR; and sister, Marie Merrifield (William) of Topeka, KS.
