
Frank P. Chiles Jr., 84, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2015 at his home, after a long illness. Services will be held Tuesday, January 12th, with Visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence; and graveside at 2:30 p.m. at Six Mile Cemetery, Sibley, MO.
Frank was born August 31, 1931 in Cameron, Missouri, the son of Frank Sr. and Susan (Webb) Chiles. He graduated from Wentworth Military Academy. Frank married Virginia Shrank on March 16, 1951. He served in the U.S. Army and was in Germany for two years during the Korean Conflict. Frank did heavy construction work all his life. He worked for J.A. Tobin and was a member of Operating Engineers Local 101 for many years.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Nancy & Pam.
His survivors include his wife of 64 years, Virginia Chiles; two sons, Lewis Chiles & David Chiles, all of the home; and three sisters: JoAnn, Pat & Debbie.
