
Frank Smith Greene, 89, of Grain Valley, MO, passed away on December 29, 2015. Frank’s life will be honored and celebrated on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Faith United Methodist Church, Grain Valley, Mo. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and memorial services at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church Building Fund.
He was born in Winfield, Alabama to Lemuel and Virginia Tennessee Smith Green, on March 11, 1926. Frank graduated from high school in Winfield and enlisted in the Navy in World War II. He served as a radioman on a PBY airship and was discharged when the war ended as a naval air cadet. He graduated from the Missouri School of Mines in 1950 as chemical engineer. He married Dorothy Louise McIntosh in 1949. Frank worked at Armco Steel in Kansas City for 32 years and retired in 1982. Frank and Dorothy started the Greene Acres Christmas Tree Farm in Grain Valley and sold trees until 1998.
His survivors include his wife of 66 years, Dorothy; sons, Michael, Timothy (Linda) and Dan (Loretta); daughters, Sarah Hamer and Cathy Basinger; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.
