Franklin K. Cummings


Franklin Keith Cummings, 95, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at St. Mary’s Manor, Blue Springs.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 17th at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.  Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. in Old Scotland Church of Christ Cemetery, Jameson, MO.  Contributions may be made to the cemetery or the Rainbow Center in Blue Springs.

Frank was born December 13, 1918, in Daviess County, Missouri, the son of John William and Zoola May (Brown) Cummings.  He married Margaret Anne Terry on April 5, 1941.  Frank was a Sergeant in the Army, serving from 1942 – 1945.  He served two years in Europe during World War II.  Frank worked for Safeway Stores from 1945 – 1982, where he was an assistant location manager.  He has been a member of the Church of Christ since 1960.  Frank and Margaret Anne greatly enjoyed traveling in North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.  He also enjoyed genealogy, reading, woodworking, and tending his yard.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Zyla Bell Cummings.

His survivors include his wife of 73 years, Margaret Anne Cummings; two children & spouses: Anne Cherie & Jim Walker, and Dennis Alan & Janice Cummings; four grandchildren: Alicia & Scott Bridges, Allyn & Sara Walker, Adam Cummings, and Katherine Cummings; and four great-granddaughters: Clae Allyson Walker, Kobi LeeAnne Walker, Alaina Deanne Bridges, & Anessa Drew Bridges.
