Gary Ambrose Harmon, 65, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21st at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley; burial in Valley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Gary was born October 28, 1946 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Ambrose Tillman and Ruth Louise (Ramsey) Harmon. He married Kimberly Rice August 14, 1976. Gary served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1967. He worked for Victor L. Phillips for 43 years. Gary loved to golf, bowl, and ride his motorcycle.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Kimberly Harmon of the home; son, Gary Andrew “Andy” & Jennifer Harmon, Independence, MO; daughter, Melissa Sue Cowin of Kansas City, MO; three granddaughters: Jasmine Harmon, Jillian & Stevi Nelson; three sisters: Judy Wentland of Lee’s Summit, MO, Janice & Kenny Brazeel of Kansas City, MO, Diane & Mike Beachner of Osceola, MO; two brothers: Don & Glenda Harmon, Dave Harmon, all of Kansas City, MO; several nieces & nephews; and many loving friends.
