Gayle Karen Groff was born February 6, 1952 in Independence, MO, to Olen and Marcelaine Griffel. She passed away peacefully in the arms of the Lord on Friday, April 27, 2015, in her home in Grain Valley, surrounded by her husband and two sons, after a courageous bout with Lung Cancer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Thomas Groff; Two sons: Sean Groff of Lee’s Summit, MO and Jason Groff of Grain Valley, MO; Parents, Olen and Marcelaine Griffel of Higginsville, MO; Two sisters: Cheryl Schwindt of Kansas City, MO and Cindy Griffel of Kidder, MO.
She worked as a secretary in the insurance field for 15 years before becoming a stay at home mother for 10 years. She returned to work as the office manager at Sallee Homes for 17 years before retirement. She enjoyed planting flowers and tending to her many gardens over the years. But above all else, she enjoyed watching her two sons play baseball and helping out wherever she could.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, with visitation at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Gayle’s memory to GoFundMe.com/t2p5nc5n.
