Gene Odell Roberds “also known as Punk”, passed away on January 3, 2014 due to complications from his battle with Leukemia. Gene was born on April 26th, 1940 to Alvin & Ida Jane Roberds in Dearborn MO. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Martha, his son Sean, his daughter-in-law Regina, 2 brothers: David Roberds & his wife Sue of Dearborn MO, Ronnie Roberds & his wife Donna of Kansas City MO and 2 sisters: Pamela Anderson & her husband Pete of Destrahan, LA and Diane Williamson of Dearborn MO. Gene was a lifelong resident of the area and worked a number of jobs including a truck driver, custodian and mechanic mostly notably for the Grain Valley School District.
Visitation will be held on January 9th at Royers Funeral Home in Oak Grove MO from 2 to 3:30pm, with a short service from 3:30 to 4pm. Burial to follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Gene requested donations to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
