Ginny was born on June 24, 1930 to Harmon “Clyde” and Effie “Mabel” Jenkins on the family farm in Wheatland, MO. Ginny moved to Kansas City, MO in the early 1950s. She worked at many jobs in Kansas City, including as a secretary to the Sales Manager at Kelly Springfield Tire Company. It was during her time there in December of 1956 that Ginny met William Russell Williamson Jr. A few months later, the two were married on April 20, 1957. Ginny took a position with the Independence Sanitarium in June 1957 as the secretary to the hospital administrator. She worked there until October 1962. At that point, Ginny assumed the most cherished job of her life as a homemaker. In this role, Ginny and Bill were blessed with two wonderful children. Then in June 1984, the couple decided to open an accounting practice, where they enjoyed working together for 24 years until they retired in June 2008. Ginny had a true servant’s heart and never thought of herself first. Her life revolved around meeting the needs of others, whether it was at home, work, or at church. She loved entertaining or traveling with her many friends and family throughout her life. Her family was the apple of her eye and in her later years, she delighted in her four grandsons. If her grandsons were around, Ginny was sure to be running around, playing on the floor or taking them for hikes. Ginny loved being outside, as evidenced by her gardens, where she produced many fresh vegetables for her family and friends. She loved animals and pets. Ginny was a founding member of Blue Springs Christian Church and was an active member there for 30 years. She loved operating the Welcome Center for the church over several years, where all guests and newcomers got a wonderful reception. Ginny also taught Sunday School for the children of the church for many years, as well as never missing a Vacation Bible School or Summerfest. Both of her parents and her infant daughter, Lori Elaine, preceded her death.
Ginny is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Russell Williamson Jr. of the home; her daughter, Janelle Kay Atchison & husband Eric, of Greenwood, MO; son William Russell Williamson III & wife Shalena of Murrieta, CA; four grandsons, Talon Russell Williamson, Lane Charles Williamson, Charles “Cole” Atchison, & Evan William Atchison; and sister, Ethel “Fern” Tipton of Raytown, MO.
