Gerald Eldon Swoffer, 82, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away in his home with his loved ones around him on Thursday, March 28, 2019. Cremation; no services. Contributions can be made to the family to help with medical expenses.
Gerald was born in Argyle, MI on November 16, 1936, son of Melvin and Laura (Kitchen) Swafford. He was raised in Deckerville, MI and moved to Missouri in 1975. He married Anne Barber and they have been together for 52 and a half years. He was an automotive mechanic and he loved playing cards and telling stories around the table to family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; older brother, Art Swoffer; and younger brother, Willard Swoffer.
His survivors include his wife, Anne Swoffer of the home; son, Rick Swoffer (Betty) of Grandview, MO; daughter, Virginia Poole (Brian) of Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Laura Swoffer (Angie) of Independence, MO; son, Gerald Swoffer of Grain Valley, MO; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 2 older sisters, Doris Collier of Blue Springs, MO and Delores Wieners (Lester) of Independence, MO.
